Great news for The Pool of Sound
The funding for the Pool of Sound Project (Soundbeam sessions and the weekly drop-in) was due to end in February 2010. The Henry Smith fund which generously gave us £17,000 for three years is not funding us in the future.
The Edward Lloyd Trust directors recognise how well the Soundbeam is used and what a difference it makes to people’s lives, so they have agreed to support it for another year. We have also been very fortunate in raising money from the Sherburn Trust and another charity.
However we will have to put the cost of the drop-in up to £3.00 for people to come to use the drop-in and £1.00 for support workers/ carers. This includes the cost of admission, refreshments and instruments, so it is still a great bargain. The drop-in takes place every Wednesday between 1.45pm and 3pm. We are asking everyone who comes to pay the charge as this goes towards funding the session. This new price will start in January 2010.
