Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join a team of staff in an Independent Living Service in Whitley Bay working as Support Workers.
Supporting three ladies you will make sure they are the focus of your attention at all times, you will be involved in all aspects of daily living, supporting with personal care, promoting health and wellbeing and supporting the individuals to experience a range of recreational activities.
It is essential that applicants hold a valid UK driver’s license.
You must be flexible in your approach with excellent communication and listening skills.You will be required to work on a variable rota to meet the individual needs of the service users you will be supporting, which may include some weekend and bank holiday work. In addition you will be required to work some sleepover shifts.
Experience with supporting people with learning disabilities is essential for this position and it is desirable that you have an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care.

You will work with other team members to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our service users in a way that promotes independence and respects the dignity of each individual. Experience preferred particularly in working with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties. You must be flexible in your approach with excellent communication and listening skills. Part-time opportunities are available for a variable rota which includes some weekends and bank holiday work. In addition you may be required to work sleepovers.
