About Edward lloyd Trust

Background

The Edward Lloyd Trust is a registered charity that was established in 1988, when John Lloyd, the current Chairman worked with Pam Lawrence, the previous Chief Executive, to develop the organisation. At that time, the focus was bringing people out of long stay hospitals, to provide a home for them in the community. Over the years the organisation has grown and developed and now provides a range of different types of support to enable people to live as independently as possible and to enjoy life to the full.


Board of Directors

The Board has eight directors who are able to provide expertise in social care, business development, organisational development, carers’ perspective, housing policy, finance, strategy and policy. The local directors also align themselves to a small number of Trust services and undertake visits, get to know the people who we support and the staff who provide services.

The directors are:

The Board meets every quarter and discusses progress reports, developments, strategy and the performance of the organisation. Each year they hold a strategy day to review what has happened and the general direction of the organisation in the coming year.

All directors are registered with the Charity Commission and have had CRB checks.


Management Team

The organisation works by having a small management team, who work collaboratively and efficiently.

Chris Irwin is the Chief Executive and she provides overall leadership and management for the organisation.

Christine Howarth is the Financial Controller and has responsibility for all financial and budget issues

Sue Russell is the Operations Manager who is responsible for the operational delivery of services

Julie Stewart is the Head of Human Resources, responsible for staffing issues

Donna Jones is HR Project Manager, responsible for special HR projects

These four staff form the Senior Management Team.

They are supported by :

Nicola Thompson, Quality Assurance
Garry Spry, Children’s Services Manager
Trevor Finlay, Financial Assistant
Hayley Aspinall, HR Administrator
Glenn Howe, Learning and Development Officer

These staff form the central office staff who provide management, advice, support and back office functions for the staff who work directly with the people we support. This work is done in the community. We have a system of Team Leaders, household teams, service teams and floating support workers to ensure everyone we work with gets high level of support.

The Soundbeam is staffed by Brian Wilkinson and Gary Bowden who are accomplished musicians, as well as being trained support workers.

Our children’s services are staffed by specially recruited and trained staff
